For the fifth time, Jester King Brewery is releasing Montmorency vs Balaton, its cherry sour ale.

As with the previous versions of this beer, the 2018 Montmorency vs Balaton, uses two types of cherries— Montmorency and Balatonare—that are picked in Michigan, then added to the sour beer and refermented.

This beer is a 6.1 percent ABV barrel-aged sour ale that is brewed with Hill Country well water, local grains, fresh hops and aged hops from Jester King’s barn.

According to the Jester King Brewery website, 2018 Montmorency vs Balaton will go on sale June 15 from its tasting room. The brewery will have 4,300 500ml bottles ($20) available with a six bottle per customer per day limit.
