Jester King Brewery has released a barrel-aged version of a beer that has not been seen in almost a year.
Barrel-Aged Bière de Miel is a 6.9 percent ABV “simple farmhouse ale” brewed with Texas malted barley sourced from Blacklands Malt, hops and watermelon honey before being aged in neutral oak barrels. The new beer was brewed to coincide with the National Honey Board Honey Summit taking place in Austin from May 20 through May 22.
As the name suggests, the base beer is the Austin-based brewery’s Bière de Miel, which debuted in 2014 and was last sold in 2018.
According to posts on Jester King’s Facebook page and website, Barrel-Aged Bière de Miel is available at the brewery starting today packaged in 750ml bottles ($18) with a two bottle per person purchase limit.
