Jester King Brewery has opened an online lottery for 1.5 liter bottles of 2017 Bière de Blanc du Bois, a 6.9 percent ABV blend of barrel aged sour beer fermented with the Austin-based brewery’s mixed culture of native yeast and bacteria before being refermented with Texas-grown Blanc du Bois grapes, an American hybrid varietal.

Customers are able to enter their names once at this link for the chance to be able to purchase one of the bottles, and the lottery will end on Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. CST. Winners will be notified by Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. CST, and will have until March 2 at 4 p.m. CST to pay for the bottle via a link that will be sent via email. Finally, winners will have to pick up their bottles during the brewery’s regular business hours by March 18, or the purchase price will be refunded and the bottle will be sold to another person.

The lottery system was announced after 150 1.5 liter bottles of Atrial Rubicite were sold for the first time on a first come, first serve basis, with 50 bottles each released on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Jester King asked customers to not show up at the brewery until after sunrise, but there were reports and social media posts indicating that people were on the property as early as 2:00 a.m. on each of the days the bottles were being sold.

This is the fourth beer Jester King has released in magnums so far:

According to Jester King, there are 175 1.5 liter magnums of 2017 Bière de Blanc du Bois available priced at $75 each and there will be no proxies allowed.
