A new collaboration between Jester King Brewery and Germany-based Freigeist Bierkultur includes some very unusual ingredients.

The two breweries combined their efforts for Sing-Along Deathmatch, a 5.6 percent ABV farmhouse ale brewed with Texas wildflower honey that was cold smoked with rosemary sprigs at Stiles Switch BBQ before being refermented on wild Mexican plums. The new ale was brewed in August 2016 at Austin-based Jester King.

Great friends are difficult to find,” reads the beer label. “We may easily come across people capable of conversing in shared interests or even find a soul who is just loads of fun. However, finding someone that affords an almost magical connection is so rare. This is the sort of person that can show up out of the blue, poke you in the eye, break your glasses, throw your shoe across the street, wrestle you to the ground, and then follow it all up with a shared embrace and pitch-perfect karaoke duet.”

According to a label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Sing-Along Deathmatch will be packaged in 750ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
