The beer that Jester King Brewery and 18th Street Brewery brewed together more than five months ago is finally ready.
The new collaboration is Multifarious, a 6.6 percent ABV oatmeal stout that incorporates smoked malt, native yeast and bacteria “harvested from the land and air around our brewery.” The beer was brewed at Jester King in Austin, Texas on Nov. 18, 2015 and was packaged on Jan. 5.
“It was brewed with the mindset of creating a beer that is subtle, succinct, and above all — drinkable,” reads a post on Jester King’s website. “It’s no secret at this point that we’ve been intrigued for quite some time now with subtlety, simplicity, and restraint. We often measure our work by asking the question, ‘Would we want to drink a full glass of this beer, and then ask for another?’ In working with 18th Street Brewery on Multifarious, we feel we were able to achieve this!”
According to Jester King, Multifarious is packaged in 750ml bottles ($12) and will go on sale at the brewery on March 25 with no limits. In addition, some of the approximately 2,700 bottles that are available will see limited distribution through Flood Independent Distribution.
