Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary the best way it knows how: by releasing some new beers.
The first new release to be announced is Cognac Barrel Dark Apparition, an 11.5 percent ABV Russian imperial stout brewed with 11 malts and brown sugar before being aged in Rémy Martin cognac barrels for “a full year.” The base stout has seen many different incarnations since it was first released in 2008, including the original Dark Apparition (10.5 percent ABV), Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Apparition (10.5 percent ABV), Vanilla Bean Rum Barrel Dark Apparition (10.5 percent ABV) and Vanilla and Coffee Bean Dark Apparition (10.5 percent ABV), among others.
According to Brad Clark, director of brewing operations for the Athens, Ohio-based brewery, Cognac Barrel Dark Apparition will be packaged in 375ml bottles ($11.99)and will also be one of three different beers that will be released. Only 100 cases available when it goes on sale for the brewery’s 10 Year Anniversary Extravaganza taking place on Dec. 4-5, and while bottle limits are not known yet, Clark to Tenemu in an email that “it will be less than our normal 6/person.”
