As if two versions of one of Jackie O’s Pub & Brewery’s most anticipated stout were not enough, it turns out there will be another beer released to fans this weekend.

That beer will be Apple Brandy Barrel Oil of Aphrodite, a 12.2 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with locally-harvested black walnuts and Belgian candied syrup before being aged in Laird’s Apple Brandy barrels for one year.

As the name suggests, the base beer is the Athens, Ohio-based brewery’s Oil of Aphrodite, a 10 percent ABV imperial stout that debuted in 2010 and has had a number of different incarnations, including Bourbon Barrel Oil of Aphrodite (12.1 percent ABV), Rum Barrel Oil of Aphrodite (11.5 percent ABV) and Sherry Barrel Oil of Aphrodite (11.5 percent ABV.)

The new version of the imperial stout is being released alongside Bourbon Barrel Appervation and Port Barrel Appervation at the Jackie O’s production brewery facility on Sept. 14.

In an email, Sophia Karageorge, marketing and event manager at Jackie O’s, told Tenemu that Apple Brandy Barrel Oil of Aphrodite will be packaged in 375ml bottles ($11.99) and will have a two bottle per person purchase limit with 105 cases available.
