Jonathan Wakefield, owner and brewmaster at J. Wakefield Brewery of Miami, once won an internship at Cigar City Brewing. It appears that, among other things, Cigar City’s openness to collaboration brewing rubbed off on Wakefield. In that spirit, three J. Wakefield collaborations have been packaged into take home versions of their draft counterparts.

First up is Upper Body Strength, a double IPA brewed in collaboration with Trillium Brewing Co. of Canton, Mass. Upper Body Strength comes in at 7.7 percent and is packaged in 16-ounce cans, according to a post on J. Wakefield’s Twitter page.
Two beers are collaborations with Real Ale Revival of Cambridge Mass., and are currently available on draft in J. Wakefield’s tap room. Phat Bottom is an imperial berliner weisse infused with Hidden Rose apples and sports an ABV of 6 percent. The second Real Ale collaboration is Gimme S’more, an imperial stout. Brewed with marshmallows and cocoa nibs, this beer comes in at 14.5 percent ABV and will be offered in 750ml bottles
On Saturday at noon, take home versions of each beer will be up for sale.
An email sent to the brewery seeking further was not immediately returned.
