Next month, the wait for fans of one of J. Wakefield Brewing’s most popular beers is nearly over.
On Feb. 4, J. Wakefield Brewing will once again be releasing Dragon Fruit Passion Fruit, a 5 percent ABV berliner weisse brewed with dragon fruit and passion fruit that was first sold as a draft-only option in 2012. The ale was first bottled in 2016, and the newest version will be packaged in 750ml bottles.
In addition, two collaboration beers with Sweden-based Omnipollo will also be available for sale: the first is Brush, a 14 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with marshmallow, vanilla bean, cocoa nibs, coffee and ancho chiles, while the second is One Trick Pony, a 7 percent ABV imperial lassi gose style German ale brewed with dragon fruit, mango, passion fruit, sea salt and lactose. Lassi is a popular drink from southeast Asia made with yogurt, water, spices and occasionally fruit. Both collaboration beers will also be packaged in 750ml bottles.
