Hill Farmstead Brewery’s newest release of Flora is coming next week.
According to a post on its website, Flora is a farmstead wheat ale aged in French oak wine barrels. The wheat saison uses the the Greensboro Bend, Vt.-based brewery’s Florence (5 percent ABV) as its base before it undergoes “extended” aging in wine barrels.
In addition to the base ale, there have been multiple Flora variants released over the years, including Flora Blueberry/Black Currant/Raspberry/Cherry, Flora Plum and Flora Cherry, Raspberry and Northern Kiwi.
Flora 2019 will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($33) with a three bottle per person purchase limit when it is released at the brewery on Sept. 4.
