Hill Farmstead Brewery is changing up one of its oldest beers.

Today, the brewery will release Gin Barrel-Aged Clara, a grisette brewed with American malted barley, local organic wheat and both American and European hops before being aged “for over a year” in gin barrels from Caledonia Spirits of Hardwick, Vt. The new incarnation is based on Clara (4 percent ABV), which was first released in 2011.

Along with Gin Barrel-Aged Clara, the brewery is releasing bottles of both Leaves of Grass – July 16, 2015, a farmstead ale brewed with sour candy and fermented in oak barrels, and Genealogy ($10) a 9.5 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with malted wheat and locally roasted coffee before being conditioned in stainless steel.

According to a post on Hill Farmstead’s Facebook page, Gin Barrel-Aged Clara is packaged in 375ml bottles ($16) and will have a one bottle per person limit when it goes at the brewery in Greensboro, Vt.
