Hi-Wire Brewing has announced the addition of two new beers in its limited Single Barrel Series.
The first new beer is Batch #3, a 4.7 percent ABV berliner weirs brewed with German ale yeast as well as both brettanomyces and lactobacillus. The finished beer was then aged in white wine barrels before being packaged in 750ml bottles ($15) with a limit of six bottles per person.
The second beer to be released is Batch #4, a 5.5 percent ABV saison brewed with brettanomyces and lactobacillus before being aged in red wine barrels with passion fruit. The new saison will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($18) and will have a limit of four bottles per person.
Hi-Wire Brewing announced the Singe Barrel Series earlier this year, which is made up of beers that are “small batches fermented 100% in oak barrels with mixed yeast cultures, bottle conditioned with brettanomyces, and sold in cork and caged 750ml bottles.” The first two beers in the series were Batch #1, a barrel-aged dark saison and Batch #2, a barrel-aged wild ale conditioned on cherries and raspberries, both of which were released April 1.
According to a press release, bottles of both Batch #3 and Batch #4 will be available for purchase at the Asheville, N.C.-based brewery on June 11.
