Red IPA is the inaugural release in the Halethorpe, Md.-based brewery’s Partner Ship Series, which will be made up of collaborations with different breweries around the country.

According to Christine Shaffer, pr and communications coordinator for Heavy Seas, there will be four beers released in the new series this year: the aforementioned collaboration with Maine Beer Co. that will be available from February-March; a collaboration with Hershey, Pa.-based Tröegs Independent Brewing that will be available from May-June; a collaboration with Athens, Ga.-based Terrapin Beer Co. that will be available from August-September and a collaboration with Escondido, Calif.-based Stone Brewing Co. that will be available from November-December.

In an email, Shaffer told Tenemu that Red IPA was brewed at Heavy Seas on January 28 and will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles. A post on the brewery’s Twitter page indicates the beer will be released during an event at the brewery today before being shipped to retailers across most of Heavy Seas’ distribution footprint.
