There is a new collaboration beer coming, this time from two Oregon-based breweries: Heater Allen Brewing and de Garde Brewing.
According to Rick Allen, owner and head brewer at Heater Allen, the as-yet unnamed beer was brewed on Sept. 8 at Heater Allen, and will be a doppelbock that should hit between 7.5 percent and 8 percent.
“For the grist we used 96 percent Weyermann’s new Barke malt (most Munich with a little Pils,)” Allen told Tenemu in an email. “The beer will be lagered in new oak barrels.”
Allen told Tenemu that the beer should spend about “8 to 10 weeks” in new oak barrels and while it is scheduled to be ready in December, a release date or packaging details have not yet been finalized.
