Next month, Great Divide Brewing Co. is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its original Barrel Aged Series by debuting a new series.

The first release in the Wood Werks Series will be Belgian-Style Sour, a 9.3 percent ABV tripel aged in red wine barrels for 15 months and conditioned on plums. Great Divide has recently invested in two temperature and humidity controlled barrel aging rooms, which is allowing the Denver-based brewery to expand its barrel-aged offerings with the new series.

“This Belgian-Style Sour showcases our creativity and thoughtful approach to a Belgian-Style tripel,” said Brandon Jacobs, brewing manager at Great Divide, in a press release. “It really is a labor of love and patience.”

According to a press release, Wood Werks Belgian-Style Sour will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles that will be available at retailers across the brewery’s distribution network from February-March. It will be followed by two additional releases in the series this year: Wood Werks Flemish Sour Brown Ale in May and Wood Werks Barrel-Aged Brown Rye Ale in August.
