Goose Island Beer Co.’s next collaboration is not with another brewery, but with a historian.

The new beer is Brewery Yard, an 8 percent ABV stock pale ale brewed with floor malted English pale malt as well as English golding and U.S. cluster whole hops before aging the final product in oak casks with brettanomyces. The beer is a collaboration with brewing historian Ron Pattinson and is an attempt to recreate a stock pale ale “as it was brewed in 19th Century England.”
