For the third time in as many years, a small number of lucky fans of Goose Island Beer Co. will have the chance to try multiple versions of its Bourbon County Brand Stout weeks earlier than the rest of the country.

This Monday, the Chicago-based brewery will open an online lottery for tickets to Proprietor’s Day 2018, an event that will allow a select few to try at least two different incarnations of its popular stout: Bourbon County Proprietor’s Bourbon County Brand Stout 2018, an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with a combination of dark chocolate and two types of cocoa nibs added; and Bourbon County Vanilla Stout 2018, an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with whole grade A vanilla beans from Madagascar.

Attendees to the event taking place on Nov. 11 at the Goose Island brewery in Chicago will also have the option to purchase two bottles of Proprietor’s 2018 as well as one bottle of Bourbon County Vanilla Stout 2018. In addition, this year’s event will feature a number of different versions of Bourbon County Brand Stout on tap as well as local Chicago-based companies sampling their “unique goods made with or inspired by Bourbon County Stout.”

Starting on Oct. 1 at 12 a.m. CST, fans can enter the lottery once daily online until 11:59 p.m. CST on Oct. 8 at the Goose Island Proprietor’s Day 2018 website, with winners randomly chosen and notified on Oct. 9. Winners will then have up to 48 hours to claim and purchase their tickets for $30 and attendees will be able to pick up their bottles at the event.

According to the Goose Island website, winners of the tickets to Proprietor’s Day 2018 will receive:

  • Tokens for seven 3-ounce pours of 2018 Bourbon County variant samples or 16-ounce cans of 312 Dry Hop
  • Custom Prop Day tote bag
  • The option to purchase two bottles of Bourbon County Proprietor’s 2018 as well as one bottle of Bourbon County Vanilla Stout 2018
  • A commemorative 2018 Proprietor’s Day snifter glass

Last month, Goose Island released details about eight different incarnations of its popular Bourbon County Brand Stout, including Bourbon County Brand Wheatwine 2018, Bourbon County Brand Bramble Rye Stout 2018 and Bourbon County Brand Midnight Orange Stout 2018.
