The Fulton and Wood Series by Goose Island Beer Co. of Chicago, is a program that allows its employees to team up and create new beers.

Goose Island has announced the first Futon & Wood release for 2017, dubbed Lill Moxie. The new beer is a dry-hopped cream ale paying homage to “The Chicago Brewery on the corner of Lill and Diversey, and the factory workers who enjoyed it,” according to an Eventbrite post. “In the days before Prohibition, Cream Ale was the preferred beer style of the blue collar worker. This clean and refreshing ale that has a slightly sweet malt body and undertones of corn that complement our signature house yeast flavor.”

In an email to Tenemu, Samantha Klein, Director for GOLIN said “as a Fulton & Wood release it will only be available on draft in Chicago at this time.” The email notes the use of Millenium Hops in Lill Moxie, and an ABV of 5.7 percent. Malts used in the beer are 2-Row, flaked corn and flaked barley.

The release will take place at Manny’s Coffee Shop and Deli on March 23. Tickets are available for $10 each. Beginning at 7 p.m. attendees can enjoy the new beer and “classic Chicago sandwiches” with all proceeds benefitting the Illinois Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (IRAEF).
