Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and fans of Funky Buddha Brewery know what that means: the release of the brewery’s February limited edition commemorating the day.

As with previous releases, The Love Below 2019 is a 12 percent ABV Russian imperial stout aged in both cabernet wine barrels and bourbon barrels between eight and 12 months before being blended together and conditioned on cherries and “100 percent chocolate.”

First bottled in 2015, the stout uses the Oakland Park, Fla.-based brewery’s Nikolai Vorlauf Russian imperial stout (9.5 percent ABV) as its base and is now part of its Living Barrel Series which is made up of barrel-aged beers packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

According to a post on Funky Buddha’s website, The Love Below 2019 will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($25) when it goes on sale at the brewery on Feb. 6. In addition, the porter will “hit limited distribution to select retailers in Florida” shortly after the release at the brewery.
