This weekend, Funky Buddha Brewery is releasing a brand new beer that would be right at home around a campfire.

Bourbon Barrel-aged S’mores is an 11 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with cocoa nibs, graham crackers and vanilla before being aged in oak bourbon barrels for 12 months. The barrel-aged imperial stout will join the Oakland Park, Fla.-based brewery’s Living Barrel Series, which is made up of beers aged in various types of barrels.

Funky Buddha also filed a label with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for a different variant named Apple Brandy Barrel-Aged S’Mores, which is the same beer aged in apple brandy barrels. However, in an email, John Linn, brand director at Funky Buddha, told Tenemu that version does not have a release date as this time.

According to a post on Funky Buddha’s website, Bourbon Barrel-Aged S’Mores will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($20) and will have a purchase limit of two bottles per person when it is released in “extremely limited” quantities exclusively at the brewery’s taproom on April 8.
