First came raspberries, and now apricots are being used in the newest version of Funkwerks Provincial.

Apricot Provincial is a 4.2 percent ABV “seasonable Belgian-style sour ale” brewed with apricots and a “unique 24-hour warm souring technique using lactobacillus in the wort.” It uses the Fort Collins, Colo.-based brewery’s Provincial (5.6 percent ABV) as a base, and is the second time fruit has been added to the beer after Raspberry Provincial (4.2 percent ABV) was released in 2014.

According to a beer label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Apricot Provincial will be package in 330ml bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional information regarding a release date and distribution details was not immediately returned.
