This fall, Fremont Brewing Co. is releasing one variant of its popular bourbon barrel-aged oatmeal stout, with the possibility of at least two more being added.

According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the first beer will be 2018 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star (BBADS), a 13.6 percent ABV blend of 8-, 12-, 18 and 24-month imperial oatmeal stout aged in seven- to 12-year-old Kentucky bourbon barrels and packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

In addition, the Seattle-based brewery filed a label for 2018 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star: Spice Wars, a 13.6 percent ABV blend of 8-, 12-, 18 and 24-month imperial oatmeal stout conditioned on allspice, cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla and aged in seven- to 12-year-old Kentucky bourbon barrels before being packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

Finally, Fremont may be releasing 2018 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star: Coffee Edition, a 13.6 percent ABV blend of 8-, 12-, 18 and 24-month imperial oatmeal stout conditioned on coffee and aged in seven- to 12-year-old Kentucky bourbon barrels and packaged in 22-ounce bottles.

According to Fremont’s 2018 release calendar, 2018 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star is scheduled to be released in October. Last year, 2017 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star: Spice Wars and 2017 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star: Coffee Edition were released on Oct. 14, two weeks after 2017 Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Star was sold.

A message sent to the brewery for additional information was not returned.
