The first release in Founders Brewing Co.’s 2019 Limited Release Series lineup is being released on one of the first days of the year.
That beer is Blushing Monk, a 9.2 percent ABV Belgian-Style ale fermented with “a ridiculous amount” of raspberries. The ale debuted as part of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s Backstage Series and was rereleased in 2015, with both versions packaged in 750ml bottles.
“Think of Blushing Monk as Rubaeus’ older sibling – more intense, slightly larger and just a little bit more mature,” reads a press release. “(The ale) is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain in a nod to the ancient monastic art of brewing.”
According to a press release, Blushing Monk 2019 will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($16.99) that will be released at retailers across the brewery’s entire distribution network on Jan. 4 and is scheduled to be available through March.
