Fans of Founders Brewing Co.’s Barrel-Aged reDANKulous will have a reason to celebrate in April.

That is when the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery will be releasing Dankwood, an imperial red IPA brewed with caramalt and roasted barley as well as chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hops before being aged in bourbon barrels.

The IPA is the same beer as Founders’ reDANKulous IPA, which debuted in 2015 as the 13th release in its Backstage Series, which was the precursor to the brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series.

While Founders’ KBS 2018 and Backwoods Bastard 2018 have already been announced as the first two members of the brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series this year, there are three beers that have yet to be announced.

According to a post on Founders’ website, Dankwood will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles ($14.99) and 750ml bottles (11.95) that are scheduled to ship to retailers across the brewery’s 46-state distribution network on April 2.

Update (Feb. 5, 2018) — This post was updated to include the labels for both the 12-ounce and 750ml bottles. It was originally published on Jan. 26, 2018.
