It turns out that people looking for Founders Brewing Co.’s first Kentucky Breakfast Stout variant will be able to enjoy it even sooner than expected.
That is because the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery has announced that it will be shipping bottles of KBS Espresso in “early December.” Last month, Founders announced that the new beer would be shipped alongside the regular Kentucky Breakfast Stout in February 2020.
As is the case with Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Espresso KBS will be a 12 percent ABV imperial stout that is brewed with “a massive amount” of both coffee and chocolate before being aged in bourbon barrels for an entire year in caves. According to Founders, the new bottled variant will be aged on additional fresh coffee beans after being removed from barrels to give the coffee flavor “some extra oomph.”
According to an email from Founders sent to Tenemu, Espresso Kentucky Breakfast Stout will now be shipped nationwide in December packaged in both four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and 750ml bottles.
