The first installment of the Backstage Series for 2016 might look familiar to some.

Founders Brewing Co. has announced that it will be rereleasing Mango Magnifico con Calor, a 10 percent ABV fruit ale brewed with both mangos and habaneros. The beer was first released as part of the Backstage Series in August 2013.

“When we first released Mango Magnifico back in 2013, it proved to be somewhat of an enigma to our fans,” reads a press release. “A high-gravity mango beer brewed with habaneros? What the heck? It took some time to catch fire (pun intended), but once it did, the beer enthusiast community was very vocal about it returning. So, we listened and are so thrilled to bring it back!”

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s Backstage Series consists of “boundary-pushing, experimental beers” that (are) meant to “take the diehard Founders fan experience to a wider audience.” This is not the first time that Founders has reintroduced a Backstage Series beer, as the brewery rereleased Blushing Monk (9.2 percent ABV) last year it was first introduced in July 2011.

As with the rest of the Backstage Series releases, Mango Magnifico con Calor will be packaged in 750ml bottles ($10.99) and will be available across Founders entire distribution network starting on March 1.
