Founders Brewing Co. is bringing Harvest Ale back for another year, this time brewed entirely with 100 percent locally-grown Michigan hops.

This year’s Harvest Ale is a 7.6 percent 70 IBU wet-hopped IPA brewed with hops from Michigan farms including MI Local, Hop Head Farms, and Pure Mitten.

Harvest Ale has been a passion project for the brewery since the early 2000s as its ode to fall and to the beauty of American hops. Past years included hops from growers in Yakima Valley, Wash., but this year is unique as all hops are sourced from farms local to the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery.

Wet-hopping is a time-sensitive process, and the brewing team at Founders is keenly aware of that. The brewery takes on the look of a greenhouse as the team works around the clock to use the fresh hops as quickly as possible.

Harvest Ale is available across the brewery’s distribution network through October in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles with a suggested retail price of $12.99 per four-pack.
