After four years, the original will return.

The original Backstage Series beer from Founders Brewing Co., Blushing Monk, will be released again in March. The 9.2 percent ABV Belgian ale was released in July 2011, the first in what now totals 11 different beers in the Backstage Series, the experimental beer series from the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery.

“People keep asking us if we’re going to bring any of our Backstage Series beers back—and now we have,” said Dave Engbers, co-founder and president, in a press release. “It seems as though we brew Blushing Monk on a four-year cycle. Our cellar crew hates brewing it because it’s brewed with a different yeast strain from all of our other beers, but we think it’s worth the sleepless nights. It’s an absolutely gorgeous beer.”

Blushing Monk will be released in limited quantities of 750ml bottles ($16.99) throughout the Founders distribution network starting March 2. The company stated it will be the first of three Backstage Series releases scheduled in 2015.
