Founders Brewing Co. has announced the return of a fan favorite from its past that is “more intense, slightly larger and just a little bit more mature” than the brewery’s Rubaeus ale.

That beer is Blushing Monk 2020, a 9.2 percent ABV Belgian-Style ale fermented with “a ridiculous amount” of raspberries. The ale debuted as part of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s Backstage Series in 2011 packaged in 750ml bottles and was last sold in January 2019.

According to a post on Founders’ website, Blushing Monk 2020 will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to be released in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles at the brewery’s taprooms on Dec. 2. In addition, retailers across the country “will start seeing it in the weeks that follow.”
