Founders Brewing Co. has announced some of its lineup for next year and there are some surprises on the list that include a very popular stout going year-round, a new variant of one of its releases last year and a new Michigan state-exclusive release.

First, Founders will be adding Unraveled IPA to its year-round lineup, a 6.6 percent ABV IPA that brewed with oats and wheat before being dry-hopped with traditional hop pellets as well as lupulin powder that will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce cans that are schleulded to ship cross the brewery’s distribution footprint in February 2020. According to a post on the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s website, it is the same beer as Mucho Lupu, an IPA that was released as part of its Mothership Series back in June.

Also in February, one Founders’ most well-known seasonal stouts will soon be available all year long, namely Kentucky Breakfast Stout, a 12 percent ABV imperial breakfast stout that has been brewed with “a massive amount” of both coffee and chocolate before being aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for an entire year in old gypsum mines 85 feet under the ground at a temperature of 38-40 degrees fahrenheit. Year-round availability of Kentucky Breakfast Stout will begin in February 2020, when the stout is scheduled to ship nationwide packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles.

Next, Más Agave will be returning to Founders’ lineup starting in May 2020, along with an unannounced brand new variant. Originally released in May of this year, Más Agave is an imperial gose-stye ale brewed with agave, lime and sea salt before being aged it tequila barrels for “just the right amount of kick.” Both the rerelease and the new version of the ale will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles as well as 750ml bottles that are scheduled to be available from May through July next year.

Founders’ Limited Release Series will see a brand new addition next year in the form of 4 Giants IPA, a 9.2 percent ABV imperial IPA that is a a mashup of the brewery’s brewers “favorite recipes” that will be packaged in four packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to be available from April through June 2020.

There will be six different additions to Founders’ Mothership Series of brewery-exclusive releases next year, with the first being a rerelease of Devil Dancer, a 12 percent ABV imperial IPA that was first introduced as a seasonal release in 2004 and discontinued in 2017. The new incarnation of  Devil Dancer is expected to be released at the brewery on Jan. 22 packaged in 12-ounce bottles.

Finally, Founders will be shipping a new Michigan-state exclusive release named Red’s Rye IPA, an a 6.6 percent ABV IPA brewed with imported Belgian caramel malts and dry-hopped with Amarillo hops.

The IPA was last released as part of the brewery’s Mothership Series in February last year and will be packaged in 12-ounce cans that are to be shipped to retailers in March.
