There are a number of surprises coming from Founders Brewing Co. next year, including the return of a number of popular beers as well as packaging additions for some fan favorites.
First, there will be two beers returning from hiatus: Blushing Monk, a 9.2 percent ABV Belgian-Style ale fermented with “a ridiculous amount” of raspberries in January packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles priced at $16.99; and Imperial Stout, a 10.5 percent ABV Russian imperial stout that will also be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to ship in December 2019.
In addition, Founders’ popular Barrel-Aged Series will only include six beers for 2019, down from five this year. The big news involves the announcement that Canadian Breakfast Stout is returning in November, but there will also be the return of Backwoods Bastard in January, Kentucky Breakfast Stout in March and two more releases that have yet to be announced coming in May and August.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery will also be adding a 12-packs of 12-ounce bottle option for All Day IPA will be shipping to retailers across Founders’ entire distribution footprint starting in late January.
In addition, Founders will be adding a 12-pack of 12-ounce cans option for Solid Gold Lager that will replace the existing 15-pack of 12-ounce cans starting in late January.
Finally, Founders’ Mothership Series—which is made up of beers only sold at the brewery’s taprooms—is slated to have four releases next year, though details on the beers have not been announced. One is scheduled for January, another for May and the final two are currently planned, but not scheduled.
Dec. 4, 2018 — An earlier version of this post incorrectly indicated that CBS was being released in December 2019, it is actually being released in November 2019.
