Next year is Founders Brewing Co.’s 20th anniversary, and the brewery has a few surprises up its sleeve.
According to the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s 2017 Release Calendar, it will be unveiling a brand new Barrel-Aged Series, which will be populated exclusively with barrel-aged beers and will include such notable releases as Kentucky Breakfast Stout, Backwoods Bastard and four new beers, including the recently announced Frootwood.
Next, Founders will be adding both six-packs of 12-ounce bottles as well as 15-packs of 12-ounce cans for its entire seasonal lineup, which includes Azacca IPA, PC Pils and Mosaic Promise. In addition, All Day IPA will now be offered in 19.2-ounce cans that will begin shipping in “early 2017.”
Finally, the brewery is retiring two different beers “in order to make room for new ones”: Pale Ale, a 5.4 percent ABV pale that that was first seen in 2002 and Devil Dancer, a 12 percent ABV imperial IPA that was first introduced as a seasonal release in 2004.
