Last week, Founders Brewing Co. teased a new variant of its Más Agave ale that is being released next year, and we now may know what that beer is.

Más Agave Grapefruit is an imperial gose-stye ale brewed with agave, grapefruit and sea salt before being aged it tequila barrels. As the name suggests, the new creation uses the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery’s Más Agave as its base, an imperial gose-stye ale brewed with agave, lime and sea salt before being aged it tequila barrels for “just the right amount of kick” that debuted in May.

According to Founders, the label art for both releases was inspired by Day of the Dead imagery and commemorates the elaborate altars built to honor deceased loved ones.

The new beer will be one of six different members in the brewery’s Barrel-Aged Series next year, a list that also includes KBS 2020, Backwoods Bastard 2020, KBS Espresso 2020, Más Agave 2020, Underground Mountain Brown 2020 and a final beer that has yet to be announced.

According to a post on Founders’ website and Founders’ 2020 release calendar, Más Agave Grapefruit will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and 750ml bottles that are scheduled to ship to retailers across the brewery’s 46-state distribution network from May through July 2020.
