Founders Brewing Co. is adding yet another previous release to its Barrel-Aged Series.
This time, the beer is Lizard of Koz, a 10.5 percent ABV imperial stout brewed with blueberries, chocolate and vanilla before being aged in bourbon barrels. The stout was first brewed as a draft-only option by brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki as a birthday present for his sister and her husband, who also works at the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery. After that, Lizard of Koz was released as part of Founders’ Backstage Series in Nov. 2016 packaged in 750m bottles.
In addition, labels indicate that Founders will also be adding new incarnations of Bolt Cutter, Project Pam and Sweet Repute to the Barrel-Aged Series as well.
According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the newest incarnation of Lizard of Koz be packaged in 750ml bottles, although every release in Founders’ Barrel-Aged Series so far as also been packaged in 12-ounce bottles as well.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
