This summer, Founders Brewing Co. will be adding a brand new beer to its newest series that is meant to replicate the flavors in a popular cocktail.
Highball Drifter is an 11 percent ABV ale aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on cherries and orange peel. The ale will be the second release in Founders’ Bottle Shop Series, which the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based brewery describes as “a tribute to when craft brewers first pushed the limits of brewing…when beer drinkers sought big flavor and refined quality above all else” and will be for “the beer connoisseur who settles for nothing less than the very best.”
The first creation in the Bottle Shop Series was announced last year: Nemesis 2021, an 11.2 percent ABV barleywine-style ale brewed with roasted malts and “no shortage of hops” that is scheduled to be released next month.
According to a post on Founders’ website, Highball Drifter will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to be released in August 2021.
