Foothills Brewing Co.’s Coffee Infused Barrel-Aged Sexual Chocolate is back foor 2019.
The 9.6 percent ABV Russian imperial stout was brewed with house-roasted Peruvian Chanchamayo coffee and aged in barrels that previously held Buffalo Trace and Weller’s bourbon. Coffee Infused Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sexual Choocolate debuted at last year’s Barrel-Aged Sexual Chocolate.
The Winston-Salem, N.C.-based brewery released the regular Sexual Chocolate 2019 on Jan. 25 packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($15) with no purchase limit. While the regular barrel-aged version of the stout debuted in 2009, the original incarnation of Sexual Chocolate (9.75 percent ABV) was first released in 2007 and was the brainchild of Foothills owner Jamie Bartholomaus, who named it after a fictitious band in an Eddie Murphy movie.
According to to a post on Foothills’ website, Coffee Infused Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sexual Chocolate 2019 is the only barrel-aged Sexual Chocolate variant being released this year and will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($20) that will go on sale at the brewery on Sept. 20.
