Firestone Walker Brewing Co. will be releasing two new Barrelworks beers on Wednesday.
The first new beer is Peachy Bones, a 5.9 percent ABV wild saison fermented with white peaches for four months in French oak barrels while the second beer to be released is Champs de Fraises, a 6.33 percent ABV wild ale fermented with strawberries for 4-36 months in a combination of American (50 percent) and French oak barrels (50 percent).
Started in 2005 as a way for brewers to experiment, the Barrelworks program at Firestone Walker has released more than 15 different beers to date and now constitutes more than 1,500 barrels in a 7,000-square-foot building in Buellton, Calif.
Both Peachy Bones and Champs de Fraises will be packaged in 375ml bottles ($17.03) with a limit of four bottles of each per person, and there will be 300 cases of each beer available.
The beers will go on sale via Brown Paper Tickets at 9 a.m. PDT on March 23, and purchasers will be able to pick their bottles up between April 16-May 15.
