A variant of one of Firestone Walker Brewing Co.’s most popular stouts has been released again.
The beer is 2016 Parabajava, an 13 percent ABV Russian imperial stout that uses the Paso Robles, Calif.-based brewery’s popular Parabola (14 percent ABV) as its base before adding coffee sourced from Dark Nectar Roasting in Templeton, Calif. This is the second time this vintage has been released after it debuted in Sept. 2016.
Parabajava was was originally a draft-only option created for Firestone Walker’s Father’s Day brunch in 2013 held at Lot 613 in Las Angeles, Calif., and it was bottled for the first time in Nov. 2015.
According to a post on Firestone Walker’s Facebook page, 2016 Parabajava is packaged in 22-ounce bottles ($20.99), and is on sale now at both the brewery’s Venice Brewery Store and the Emporium in Paso Robles with a six bottle per person purchase limit. In addition, comments on the Facebook page indicate that there will not be a 2017 vintage released this year.
