Firestone Walker Brewing Co.’s newest release was inspired by Bell’s Brewing, Inc.’s Cherry Stout.
Chocolate Cherry Stout is a 5.5 percent ABV stout brewed with Tettnager hops and seven different types of malts: Two Row, Roast Barley, Crystal Dark, Crystal 75, Cara Pils, Lactose, Carafa type III.
“What sets this beer apart from our past stouts is the inclusion of cherries, which are added during the fermentation process,” said Matt Brynildson, brewmaster at Firestone Walker, in a press release. “We have a lot of experience in brewing with cocoa nibs as well as making cherry-infused beers at our Barrelworks wild ale cellar—but this is the first time we’ve brought it all together into a single beer.”
According to Firestone Walker, Chocolate Cherry Stout is available at retailers across the country now packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce cans.
