A brand new Barrelworks release from Firestone Walker Brewing Co. will be a collaboration with Sante Adairius Rustic Ales.

Big Mood is an 8.1 percent ABV American wild ale fermented with apricots and white wine grapes for between 18-36 months in both American and French oak foeders. The new ale will be packaged in 375ml bottles and was inspired by the idea of “combining (the two brewery’s) best efforts” by mixing 40 percent of SARA’s famous West Ashley wild ale with 60 percent of a 2017 vintage white grape ale from Firestone Walker that was brewed using SARA’s proprietary yeast culture.

Started in 2006 as a way for brewers to experiment, the Barrelworks program at Firestone Walker has released more than 15 different beers to date and constitutes more than 1,500 barrels in a 7,000-square-foot building in Buellton, Calif.

According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Big Mood was bottled on Feb. 28, 2020 and will have 519 cases available when it is released.

An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
