After a one year hiatus, a barrel-aged blended ale from Firestone Walker Brewing Co. could be returning to the brewery’s lineup in 2021.
Old Man Hattan 2021 is a 10 percent ABV bourbon barrel-aged blended ale that was inspired by two classic drinks: the old fashioned and the Manhattan. The ale—which debuted on Black Friday in 2018 before returning the next year—was a blend of five of the Paso Robles, Calif.-based brewery’s beers: Parabola, Helldorado, Velvet Merkin, Bravo and Stickee Monkee.
However, while the latter three in that release were aged in whiskey barrels, select lots of the Parabola and Helldorado included in the blend were aged in Woodford Reserve barrels previously used to mature cherry bitters, orange bitters and aromatic bitters.
According to labels filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Old Man Hattan 2021 will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles with 400 cases available when it is released.
An email sent to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
