Black Friday just became a little more interesting for fans of Firestone Walker Brewing Co.

That is the date that the Paso Robles, Calif.-based brewer will be releasing Tequila Sunrise, a 12 precent ABV “cocktail inspired” ale brewed with hibiscus and orange peel that has been aged in tequila barrels for “over 12 months.”

This is not the first time Firestone Walker has added at cocktail inspired beer to its Proprietor’s Vintage Series: Old Man Hattan 2019, a 9.6 percent ABV bourbon barrel-aged blended ale that was inspired by the old fashioned and the Manhattan drinks was shipped nationwide in July.

In addition, Firestone Walker has released a special creation on Black Friday multiple times in the past: Parabajava 2015, a 14 percent ABV imperial stout that uses the brewery’s popular Parabola as its base before adding Intelligentsia Coffee Co.’s “El Diablo” espresso blend was released in 2015; Dark & Stormy 2017, a 13.6 percent ABV ale that is a mashup of Helldorado blonde barleywine aged in rum barrels and Velvet Merkin oatmeal stout aged in rum barrels with “a touch” of hand-zested lime and ginger was released in 2017; and the aforementioned Old Man Hattan was released exclusively on the holiday last year.

In an email, Jemma Wilson, media manager for Firestone Walker, told Tenemu that Tequila Sunrise will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles ($10.99) and will have no purchase limit when it is released on Nov. 29 at the brewery’s three locations in Paso Robles, Buellton and Venice.
