Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. is going to be canning a beer it first released as a draft-only option earlier this year.

According to Kady Fleckenstein, brand director at Figueroa Mountain, the brewery will be releasing Wreck Yo Self, a double red ale that comes in at 7.25 percent ABV and 50 IBU. The beer name is inspired by Ice Cube’s hit single “Check Yo Self” which was released on “The Predator” album in 1993.

“Sometimes you want a light beer and other times you want a beer that packs more punch,” reads the beer label filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). ” Wreck Yo Self is a full-bodied double red ale with aromas of apricot, peach and mango.”

Wreck Yo Self will be the forth release in the Buellton, Calif.-based brewery’s Hip Hoppy Series, which which are dry-hopped creations that “pay tribute to some of the most iconic names in hip hop music”:

  • Czech Yo Self, pilsner (5.5 percent ABV)
  • Weiss Weiss Baby, crystal weiss ale (4. 9 percent ABV)
  • Gimme that Nut, brown ale (6 percent ABV)
  • Wreck Yo Self, double red ale (7.25 percent ABV)

In an email, Fleckenstein told Tenemu that Wreck Yo Self will be packaged in six-packs of 12-ounce cans and will “likely” be released in the first quarter of 2016 at the brewery’s six taprooms in California.
