When Goose Island Brewing Co.’s Autumn Variety Pack goes on sale in August, it will include a new beer.
Experimental Ale is a 5.7 percent ABV “extra special bitter” that incorporates 2-row, wheat, c-60 and c-120 malts as well as cascade and columbus hops that are grown at Elk Mountain Farm in Idaho. The new beer features a recipe based off of the Chicago, Ill.-based brewery’s Harvest Ale (5.7 percent ABV).
According to Goose Island marketing materials, Experimental Ale will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles and released exclusively in the brewery’s Autumn Variety Packs, which will also include Goose IPA (5.9 percent ABV), Goose Autumn Ale (5.7 percent ABV) and Ten Hills Pale Ale (6.2 percent ABV). The Variety Packs will be sold in either 12- or 24-count boxes, with three or six of each of the four beers in each, respectively.
