DuClaw Brewing Co. is brewing mayhem again, literally.
According to filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), the Baltimore, Md.-based brewery will be bottling Mayhem, a 5 percent ABV weizenbock brewed with grapefruit zest and dry hopped with citra hops.
“Ride the vibe of this blonde ale, citra dry-hopped to add lemon notes, and infused with grapefruit zest for a tart, refreshing taste that keeps you in the mood all night,” reads the beer label. “Pop the top and…get your juices flowing!”
Mayhem was originally released in 2006 and periodically since then, but it has always been a draft-only option. In addition, the Duclaw website indicates that previous versions came in at 7.5 percent ABV and have no mention of the grapefruit zest or dry-hopping.
The new incarnation of Mayhem will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles. An email sent to the brewery for additional details was not immediately returned.
