The city of Aurora, Colo. is 125 years old this year and to celebrate, Dry Dock Brewing Co. is releasing a beer.
The appropriately named Aurora Ale is a blonde ale brewed with noble hops, Belgian yeast and beet sugar, which was incorporated to commemorate the region’s roots as a beet growing area.
“We’re very proud to be Aurora’s first brewery, and this community has been a huge part of our success,” said Michelle Reding, Dry Dock co-owner, in a press release . “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this anniversary than with a beer brewed to honor our roots.”
According to the press release, Aurora will be packaged in 22-ounce bottles and will be released at an event at the brewery on April 28 before being shipped to retailers in Dry Dock’s distribution footprint.
