After a one year hiatus, Dogfish Head Craft Brewry’s Sixty One IPA is returning just in time for the holidays.
As with previous incarnations, Sixty One will be a 6.5 percent ABV IPA brewed with syrah grape must from California. The IPA uses the Milton, Del.-based brewery’s 60 Minute IPA (6 percent ABV) as it’s base, and was last released in 2015 as a year-round option.
“It was a year-round beer through 2015, then we gave it a break in 2016 to make room for some new beers like Flesh & Blood and SeaQuench Ale,” said Alan Weeth, brand manager at Dogfish Head, in an email to Tenemu.
According to Weeth, the 2017 version of Sixty One will be packaged in 12-ounce bottles that are scheduled to be shipped “in limited quantities for Holiday 2017” to the brewery’s entire distribution network.
