Dogfish Head Craft Brewery has never been one to shy away from the extreme, and next month the Milton, Del.-based brewery will continue the trend by debuting two new creations on draft at the Extreme Beer Fest before releasing bottles the next day.

The first beer being released is Possibly the Next Top Rated Beer on BeerAdvocate, a ten percent ABV “Double New England Maple Pastry Black Coffee Milkshake IPA” brewed with maple syrup, toasted coconut, lactose sugar, vanilla beans, cocoa powder and cold-pressed coffee. According to Dogfish Head’s website, the IPA was inspired by ingredients found in some of the highest-rated beers on on the BeerAdvocate forum.

In addition, Dogfish Head is releasing a preview of SuperEIGHT, a 5.3 percent ABV gose-style ale brewed with “a bevy of heroic fruits” including blackberry, boysenberry, elderberry, kiwi, mango, prickly pear and raspberry juices as well as red Hawaiian sea salt and toasted quinoa. The new beer uses the Milton, Del.-based brewery’s “sessionable gose” as its base.
According to Dogfish Head, both Possibly the Next Top Rated Beer on BeerAdvocate and the preview of SuperEIGHT will be packaged in 750ml bottles priced at $20 and $8.88 respectively when they are released at the brewery’s Tasting Room & Kitchen on Feb. 2. Each beer will have a purchase limit of two bottles per person, but SuperEIGHT is scheduled to ship to retailers across Dogfish Head’s national distribution network in packaged in 12-ounce cans in April.
