Fans who do not think that Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s 120 Minute IPA is strong enough are going to be a happy campers.
According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, the Milton, Del.-based brewery will be releasing a new beer for its 20th Anniversary. Dubbed Higher Math, the new beer will reportedly be a “golden ale” fermented with cherries and aged on cocoa nibs, and is expected to come in at 20 percent ABV. If true, the 20 percent ABV Higher Math would be one of the strongest beers that Dogfish Head has made, even edging out most incarnations of 120 Minute IPA, which over the years has ranged from 15 percent to as high as 20 percent.
Although an exact release date or packaging has not been announced, a post on Dogfish Head’s Facebook page indicates that Higher Math is scheduled to be released in October in both bottles and on draft. An email to the brewery for additional information was not immediately returned.
