This Saturday, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is releasing the final addition in its Wooden… It Be Nice! Series for 2018.
Eastern Seaboard is a 7.2 percent ABV wild ale aged for approximately 18 months in both red and white wine barrels before being conditioned on “several hundred pounds” of both locally-sourced beach plums blackberries.
This will be third addition to Dogfish Head’s Wooden… It Be Nice! Series, a brewery-only series of wild ales available at the brewery in Milton, Del. The first two releases consisted of Knotty Bits, an 8.5 percent ABV wild ale brewed with brettanomyces and aged on sweet and sour cherries and rhubarb; and Wet Hot American Summer Ale, a 7.75-percent ABV farmhouse ale aged in chardonnay barrels with brettanomyces for over a year before being hopped with citra hops.
According to a post on Dogfish Head’s website, Eastern Seaboard will be available exclusively at its Milton Tasting room packaged in 375ml bottles ($10) with 4,000 bottles available when it is released on Dec. 8.
